Our Sustainable Practices
All products bearing the People Tree brand logo are fair trade products. In addition, more than 80% of their cotton clothing is made from organic cotton. Most items are made with 100% organic cotton, and the blended fabrics used to improve comfort, such as stretch and strength, also contain more than 95% organic cotton.

Meet the Brand
Fair trade values handcrafted work and organic farming, and uses natural resources sustainably. It aims to reduce CO2 emissions by supporting production methods that do not rely on large-scale machinery or oil. By committing to long-term transactions, producer partners are also able to invest in environmentally friendly production equipment. These efforts also play a role in raising environmental awareness not only in the producing countries but around the world. Furthermore, fair trade helps create markets for each country and region's products and realize sustainable economic systems and regional development. Fair trade is based on trading agricultural products that are difficult to obtain in Japan, and it takes into consideration the sustainability of industries not only in producing countries but also in importing countries.
I highly recommend you pick up a book by PeopleTree co-founder Safia Minney. She details how she started her fair trade business in her autobiography, 'Stylish Eco Saves the World: A Female CEO's Fair Trade Struggle.'
